Chotrul Duchen 2013

 

We will be commerating Chotrul Duchen and the anniversary of 2 of our lineage masters, Marpa Lotsawa and Jetsun Milarepa on 25th of February, Monday, 8pm - 9.30pm at our centre.

Chotrul Duchen is one of the 4 major days celebrated in Tibetan Buddhism and falls on the 15th day of the 1st month of the Tibetan Calender. On these four major days, it is said that the effects of positive and negative actions are multiplied ten million times.

Chotrul Duchen commmerates the final day of the 15 days of miraculous power display by the Buddha to overpower the six teachers of non-Buddhist views who challenged him.

On this day, it is also one our lineage teacher, Marpa Lotsawa anniversary, which falls on the 15th day of the 1st month. We are also taking the opportunity to commemorate Jetsun Milarepa anniversary which is on the 14th day of the 1st month.

Programme includes supplication to lineage masters, lamp offering, recitation of the 37 practices of Bodhisattvas, White Dzambala prayers, recitation of King of Prayers and dedication.
