BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI DESCENT FROM HEAVE AND HIS HOLINESS CHUNGTSANG RINPOCHE’S BIRTHDAY

Lord Buddha went to the Tushita Heaven in order to give teachings to his mother, and this Buddhist holiday celebrates his return to earth. On this auspicious “multiplier” day, the centre practiced the Lama Chopa Tsok Offering together with the offering of khatas, lamps, flowers and incense. On this day, we also honor the birth of H.H Chungtsang Rinpoche, who entered samsara voluntarily to turn the wheel of dharma for our benefit.

TEACHING ON THE JEWEL ORNAMENT OF LIBERATION

Ven. Dorzin Dhondrup Rinpoche gave teachings on the seminal text written by Gampopa, covering chapters 13 through 15.  We studied chapters on some of the Six Paramitas, focusing this time on the Perfections of Moral Ethics, Patience, and Perseverance. We had many opportunities to ask questions, and we were honored to have translation from Hana Huan (Chinese) and Ina Bieler (English).
