Thirty-One Cloths Offering for the Glorious Drikung Lineage Thangkas

 

A thangka is a painted or embroidered banner of devotional images of the lama, yidam deity and protector. It is usually hung in a monastery and carried by lamas in ceremonial processions. The thangkas are important for viewing and worship, serving as an aid to the teaching and meditation through the visualisation of the deity. On a deeper level, thangka paintings are the visual expression of the fully awakened state of enlightenment.

Our centre has a total of 31 images of the great masters of the Glorious Drikung Kagyu Lineage readily printed. In order to fulfil the completion of these thangkas, you may now offer the cloth that frames up the holy images at $88 per piece. After the making of the thangkas, our centre will keep it for use during major events specifically during the upcoming annual 100 Million Amidewa Recitation Retreat 2014.

This will provide people who have come across the holy images with means through which one can offer prayers and convey their wishes towards ultimate enlightenment. Through the sponsorship towards the making of these thangkas, you are contributing to sustain the legacy and blessings of Tibetan Buddhism from the masters of the Great Glorious Drikung Kagyu Lineage for a very long time.

Lunar New Year Celebration

 

Mahakala Dogpa and Achi Chokyi Drolma Obstacles Dispelling Puja

 

29th day of 12th lunar month, is an extremely special date for the conduct of Mahakala Puja to avert negativity and repel obstacles of the past year and to supplicate for a smooth new year ahead.

On 29/01/2014 (Wed), 7 pm - 9.30 pm, Mahakala, Achi Chokyi Drolma and Tea Offering Puja will be conducted by Ven. Dorzin Dhondrup Rinpoche to request blessing and protection of Mahakala, Achi Chokyi Drolma and all Dharma protectors for all participants. Extensive offering of food, drinks, incense, flowers, and light will be made to Mahakala and all Protectors by all attendees during
the puja.

There will be a Mahakala Blessing by Ven. Dorzin Dhondup Rinpoche at the end of session.

2-Day White Tara Retreat

8th 2-Days White Tara Retreat will be held on 31 Dec 2013 and 1 Jan 2014, from 9am to 630pm in our centre.

His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche has taught extensively on the benefits of White Tara practice. Practiced by all four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism, White Tara has been the main deity practice of many well-known Buddhist scholars and siddhas in both India and Tibet, foremost among whom where Nagarjuna and Atisha. White Tara’s special function is to promote long life, peace, prosperity and health through her enlightened activities, both for the practitioner and for others.

Annual White Tara Retreat is specially organised for World Peace & Prosperity, the Well-being of all Sentient Beings, all glorious gurus and the longevity of His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche and His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche. Let’s join our hearts together to welcome the coming New Year 2013 with meritorious activities of chanting and writing of White Tara Mantra for the benefits of all.

Vajrakilaya Retreat

We will be having a Vajrakilaya Retreat this Sunday, 8 Dec 2013. It is an auspicious event and we welcome those dharma brothers and sisters who had obtained the Phurba from our centre to bring it on Sunday for blessing.

For those who have yet to receive the empowerment and thus unable to participate in this retreat; you may like to come our centre to deposit your Phurba for blessing and return to collect after the retreat. For the retreatants, this is a friendly reminder to register of you had yet to do so and do bring also your Phurba for blessings. Please note that retreat will commence at 9am sharp and ends at 6.30pm. Vegetarian lunch will be provided.

Vajrakilaya is a wrathful manifestation of Vajrasattva and is signified by the phurba (a ritual dagger). Vajrakilaya practice is well-known for the clearing of obstacles, especially to spiritual practice.

Pilgrimage Tour to Borobudur Temple

We are pleased to announce that a 3 days 2 nights pilgrimage tour will be organized by our centre to holy Borobudur Temple in Indonesia from 29 November to 1 December 2013. The trip will led by Ven. Dorzin Dhondrup Rinpoche.

Borobudur is a ninth century Mahayana Buddhist momumentis, constructed as a ten terraes building with each terrace symbolizes the stage of human life. The great Buddshit Master Atisha once visit the temple and received Buddha teaching six scripts from Serlingpa. The teachings were then summarized as the core of the teaching called "The Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment".

Please take note the registration will be closed on 3 November 2013. Due to the limited seats, the registration is on first come first serve basis.

Mani Retreat

We are pleased to announce that a 2-day Mani Retreat on 2 and 3 Nov 2013 will be led by Ven. Chime Dorje Rinpoche at Chang Clan Building (23, Lorong 29 Geylang) for the benefit of all sentient beings. During the retreat, there will be a Chenrezig Empowerment and Chenrezig Jang Chog Puja conducted by Rinpoche.

The present Chime Dorje Rinpoche was born in India in 1984 with many auspicious signs occurring at the time of his birth. He was recognized by His Holiness the 37th Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche and was officially enthroned in the year 1992 at Jangchubling Monastery as the reincarnation of Siddha Gar Chime Dorje who was a great practitioner and an embodiment of the Avalokiteshvara (the Buddha of Compassion).

After the accomplishment of his practice, he went on to conduct many 100 Million Mani Mantra (Mani-Dung-Drub) Retreats, demonstrating his loving kindness and compassion towards the welfare of all sentient beings.

Rinpoche has studied extensively and has great interest and aspiration for meditation retreat, continuously applying what he has learnt to his meditation practice. Growing up in this modern era, he express openess and interest towards the problems faced by modern day practitioners. This, together with his kind and gentle heart as well as his sharp intelligence, makes him an exceptionally gifted teacher for the modern world.

Jewel Ornament of Liberation Teachings

 

There will be a series of teachings of Gampopa’s Jewel Ornament of Liberation conducted by Ven. Dorzin Dhondrup Rinpoche commence on 8 Sep 2013, Sunday.

The book “The Jewel Ornament of Liberation” by Gampopa is essential for all practitioners as it provides excellent insights into Buddhist studies and practices. This year’s teaching will be a continuation from last year. Attendants are encouraged to prepare your own book.

Since the establishment of Dri Thubten Dargye Ling Centre in 2007, Ven. Dorzin Dhondrup Rinpoce has diligently conducted many Dharma activities and practices as the Centre’s resident teacher, faithfully fulfilling his root guru H.E. Garchen Rinpoche’s intentions and instructions.
